We would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of Women Build 2020!
Women Build
What is Women Build?
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama program that encourages women to have fun and make a difference by raising funds and swinging hammers to build homes. This program puts emphasis on women and their friends working together for a worthy cause. It's not about excluding men (as they are welcome to participate), it's about including women!
Who Can Participate?
Women and girls of all ages can participate in fundraising and women and girls ages 16 and up can participate in work site activities. Some work site activities are also appropriate for girls age 14 and 15 near the end of the building process!
Why Should I Do It?
If you have ever wanted to learn anything about building or remodeling a house, this is your chance! You will learn construction skills and then use them to build an affordable house for a deserving family. Our expert site supervisors are on-hand every day and will teach you everything you need to know. As well, you will work with other women from all walks of life in the fight against poverty housing that so many women and children face. Lastly, this activity makes a difference not only in the lives of homeowner partners, but in the lives of donors and volunteers, too.
What Do I Do?
We're so glad you asked! We need you to sign up and help raise funds and work on the actual build of the home! You may come on your own, or if you'd prefer to work on a team, please recruit a few of your friends, family, or co-workers. A traditional team has members with a $1,500 donation requested. No matter the size of the team, each woman is asked to raise $300 and sign up to Build.
