In order to start the application process to find out if you qualify for this particular program, the Veteran or widow of a Veteran must complete the following:

Completed Veteran's Repair Corps Application (can be picked up at 3712 Airport Blvd. Mobile, AL 36608)

Homeowner's Deed information/statement (if applicable)

DD214 (If you cannot locate the DD214, please contact Alabama Veteran Administration at 251-574-8578 to make an appointment to obtain the DD214 form)

Marriage Certificate & Death Certificate (for widows of Veteran only)

Driver's License or State Issued Identification for all household members

Last three (3) consecutive months of all checking and/or savings bank statements

Verification of Veteran Administration Benefits (if applicable)

Verification of Social Security Benefits (if applicable)

Verification of Retirement Income (if applicable)

Veterans Home Repair
The Veteran's Repair Corps program is a grant funded program for critical home repairs, specifically for Veterans and widows of Veterans that meet income and critical home repair grants up to $10,000. However, Veterans are only required to pay back a small percentage of the grant to Habitat for Humanity, depending on the applicant's individual income.
Qualifications for the Veteran's Repair Corps Program:

Veteran/widow must be a homeowner listed on the Deed and/or Mortgage

Veteran/widow and household must not exceed 80% AMI maximum income (see chart below)
