Construction Site Supervisor
REPORTS TO:  Construction Director

SUMMARY:

The Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, labor subcontractors and material necessary in the construction of all assigned units. This position will schedule effectively and efficiently, ensuring the project is completed meeting all building codes and passing required building inspections. This position will provide on-site construction support and leadership.

Specific Duties

Supervise the entire building process including site management, materials procurement, sub-contractors under the direction of the construction manager.

  • Work with and develop relationships with sub-contractors, crew leaders, and volunteers.

  • Supervise the volunteer crew leaders, volunteer workers and affiliate representatives.

  • Monitor and maintain construction project schedule, prepare required documentation and project update reports.

  • Inspect projects to ensure conformance with local, state and federal construction codes as required.

Responsibility and Authority

  1. Review plans, specifications and construction schedules in order to be familiar with the steps to be taken to construct homes with good quality, at the lowest cost and shortest time possible. 

  2. Coordinate all delivery of material to the warehouse and work site.

  3.  Must have the right amount of material, labor and subcontractors on the job at all times. 

  4. Supervise the entire construction site providing direct leadership and training to crew leaders. 

  5. Complete all required reports accurately and timely. 

  6. Above all, ensure the mission of Habitat for Humanity is carried out to its fullest.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have 3-5 years of directly related construction management experience.

  • Must function well in a fast-paced environment with high energy and a high sense of urgency.

  • Highly motivated and trustworthy individual requiring minimal supervision.

  • Ability to handle multiple, high priority projects simultaneously.

  • Hold good knowledge of supplies and commodities within the service area.

  • Strong analytical and planning skills.

  • Well-developed organizational and decision making abilities.

  • Must have excellent “people” skills.

Salary Range $14-$20 an hour depending on experience
